Casablanca – Overpaintings

No city in the world paints over the walls, plinths and doors of its city as quickly as Casablanca. The city wants to remain a white city. Forever. That’s why the messages of the day are painted over at night. Every night.

These are the reels on the screens in the streets – everything is only valid for 24 hours. Drawings, writings, exclamations on the walls, drawings, messages, letters of help, accusations – all gone the next day. Painted over. Painted over in white. Again in black, again in white.

Tabula rasa in Casablanca. Even the unpleasant, the unloved messages are done with. Uncomfortable questions and hints – washed away with white paint.

A city with many messages. Be quick – otherwise they’ll be gone.

Stamuli wants to preserve the white walls’ messages. And shows that white walls have a lot to say.
